Tradewind’s Summer Issue tackles the issue of women in the maritime industry. Noting that there are still not enough women in senior-level positions, the article interviews top female executives at the world’s leading maritime companies, including Angela Chao, Chair and CEO of Foremost Group.
Angela Chao shared that she draws upon the strength of her parents, who taught her that anything boys could do, girls could do as well, and never to let other people’s misconceptions on gender affect her. She noted that the shipping industry does not have enough women, like many other industries, and that she hopes that is part of the solution in changing that. She also noted that we all have a responsibility in paving the way for future generations of women leaders.
