Ms. Angela A. Chao, the Deputy Chairman of Foremost Group, is the third member in the Chao family to be awarded the honorary doctorate degree by National Chiao Tung University (NCTU) since 2014 when her father Dr. James S. C. Chao, Chairman of Foremost Group, and her older sister The Honorable Elaine L. Chao received the same award. Mr. Mau-Chung Chang, president of National Chiao Tung University, stressed that NCTU believes the spirit of working hard and the successful stories of the Chao family can inspire and encourage more young people in the future.

Ms. Angela A. Chao, who has wisdom, intellect and beauty, was educated in America but her parents always stressed the importance of Chinese culture to her, which makes Ms. Chao able to integrate western and eastern cultures successfully. Ms. Chao possesses expertise in shipping finance, shipping management and operation; while still a student at Harvard Business School, she wrote a case that is now a required case in Harvard Business School’s First Year Finance Class. She leads Foremost Group with the principles of “Sincerely” and “Integrity” as her parents taught her. Through business management and social service, she carries on eastern philosophy and values to western culture and becomes an incredible example for the fusion of two cultures.
